Binder Value & Pricing Options
MythicHub offers advanced features for tracking the value of your collection, managing card prices, and monitoring price changes over time. This guide explains these features in detail to help you get the most out of your collection management.
The main binder page displays comprehensive value statistics for your collection. Different statistics are shown depending on the binder type:
Collection Binder Statistics:
- Total: The current market value of all cards in the binder based on your selected marketplace.
- Tracked Total: The current market value of cards that have a purchase price assigned.
- Paid Total: The total amount you paid for cards with assigned purchase prices.
- Unrealized P/L: The difference between tracked total and paid total. This measures gain or loss only for cards with a purchase price assigned.
- Sold Total: The total amount received from cards you marked as sold in this binder. Learn how to track sold cards.
- Realized P/L: The difference between what you sold cards for and the purchase prices you recorded when marking them as sold. See how sold-card tracking works.
Wishlist Statistics:
- Total Value: The current market value of all cards in your wishlist.
Tradelist Statistics:
- Total Value: The total value of your tradelist based on asking prices (or market prices if no asking price is set).
How Card Values Are Calculated:
Each card's value is calculated using this priority order:
- 1. Current Market Price: The most recent price from your selected marketplace.
- 2. Recent Market Price:If today's price isn't available, we use the most recent price from the past.
- 3. Assigned Price:If no market price is available, we use any price you've manually set for the card.
- Condition Adjustments:If enabled, we adjust market prices based on your card's condition (Near Mint, Lightly Played, etc.).
Sold-card tracking is available for paper Collection binders you own. It lets you remove sold copies from your active collection while keeping sale history for totals and realized profit/loss.
How to Mark Cards as Sold:
- Open the paper Collection binder that contains the card.
- Open the card entry and choose Actions -> Mark as sold.
- Enter the amount sold, purchase price per card, and sold price per card.
- Save the sale. MythicHub removes those copies from the active binder card entry and adds the sale to the Sold cards view.
What Happens After Saving:
- If you sell only part of the quantity, the remaining copies stay in the active collection.
- If you sell every copy, the active binder card entry is removed, but the sale remains in Sold cards.
- Sold total uses sold price per card multiplied by amount sold.
- Realized P/L uses sold price minus purchase price, multiplied by amount sold.
- You can edit purchase and sold prices later by opening the sale from the Sold cards table.
The binder value section includes a trend chart showing how your binder's total value has changed over time. The chart displays at least 14 days of data, and can show up to a full year of value history.
Chart Features:
- Value Timeline:Visual representation of your binder's value changes over time.
- Collection Events: The chart shows when cards were added, removed, or updated in your binder.
- Color Indicators:
- Green shows card additions
- Red shows card removals
- Blue shows card updates
- Purple shows multiple types of changes on the same day
How Values Are Calculated:
- Saved Values:For past dates, we calculate and save your binder's value each day. This gives you accurate historical snapshots of your collection's worth. These appear as "Stored" in the chart tooltip.
- Live Calculations:For today's value and when using filters, we calculate the value in real-time by looking at current prices and your cards from that specific time. These appear as "Estimated" in the chart tooltip.
- Historical Data for New Binders: Even if you just created a binder, we can show you how its value would have changed in the past by using historical prices with your current cards.
Note:When you apply filters to view only certain cards, all trend values become live calculations ("Estimated") since they're based on your filtered selection rather than the complete binder.
Large collections: For very large binders, MythicHub may temporarily hide the trend chart instead of recalculating a full value history instantly. Your current totals and P/L statistics are still shown, and the chart will refresh overnight once stored trend data is updated. For collection binders, Total, Tracked total, Paid total, Unrealized P/L, Sold total, and Realized P/L are still shown alongside the chart area.
The binder table includes a price changes column, showing how each card's value has changed over different time periods.
Features:
- Time Period Options: Choose to view daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly price changes using the Price dropdown menu. Weekly changes are shown by default.
- Visual Indicators: Price increases are shown in green with an upward arrow, while decreases are shown in red with a downward arrow.
- Sortable Column: Click the column header to sort by price change and quickly identify which cards have gained or lost the most value during the selected period.
- Percentage and Dollar Values: Shows both the percentage change and the actual dollar amount change for each card.
This feature helps you track market movements and identify trends in your collection's value, making it easier to make informed decisions about buying, selling, or trading cards.
The binder interface includes powerful filtering options that help you analyze specific parts of your collection.
Available Filters:
- Card Details: Filter by card name, set, rarity, color, type, mana cost, and other game properties.
- Market Price Filters:
- Show only cards with current market prices
- Show only cards missing market prices
- Assigned Price Filters:
- Show only cards where you've set a price
- Show only cards without your assigned prices
Important:When you apply filters, the value trend chart will recalculate all values in real-time based on your filtered cards. This gives you accurate trend data for just the subset of cards you're viewing.
These filtering options give you detailed control over your collection view, making it easy to analyze specific groups of cards and understand how different parts of your collection are performing.
