Bulk editing decklists
Bulk Edit is a table-style editor for a single deck. It lets you stage many changes in one place, review the draft, and then apply everything at once with Save changes.
This page is designed for larger deck updates than the normal deck editor, such as batch print changes, metadata cleanup, and mixed add/edit/delete work across many cards.
Bulk Edit uses a staged draft. Editing rows (or pasting a decklist) does not update the real deck until you click Save changes.
How to open Bulk Edit
- Open the deck you want to edit.
- Open the deck editing actions and choose Bulk Edit.
- Use the table to stage changes.
- Click Save changes to apply the draft to your deck.
What is different from normal deck editing?
- One table view: You can edit many rows without opening separate card dialogs for every change.
- Staged changes: Add, edit, duplicate, delete, or restore rows before committing anything.
- Paste is optional: You can paste a decklist into the draft, then continue refining rows in the table.
- Explicit save: The deck only updates when you press
Save changes.
Bulk Edit page layout (what you see)
- Header: Shows the deck name, format, game type, and deck tags so you can confirm you are editing the correct deck.
- Info banner: Includes feature notes plus support and feedback links.
- Action bar: Includes
Save changes,Paste decklist, optionalAdd commander, and theSearch and add cardsinput. - Draft counters: Shows decklist card count and the current draft totals for updated, added, and deleted rows.
- Table sections: Rows are grouped by board role (Commander, Mainboard, Sideboard, Maybeboard).
- Batch toolbar: When you select one or more rows, a fixed bottom toolbar appears with bulk field controls and
Apply to selected.
Batch row updates with the bottom toolbar
Use the checkbox column to select rows, then use the bottom batch toolbar to apply one or many metadata updates in one action.
- Select rows: Use per-row checkboxes or the table header checkbox to select all currently visible eligible rows.
- Always-visible batch fields: Board, Finish, Language, Tag, Proxy, Highlight, and Notes (replace) are shown at once in the toolbar.
- No change by default: Most batch fields default to
No change; only fields you change are applied. - Notes behavior: Notes batch editing is replace only. Enter text to replace notes on selected rows.
- Apply summary: If some rows cannot accept a value (for example unsupported finish/language), Bulk Edit applies compatible rows and reports how many were skipped.
- Still draft-only: Toolbar apply updates only the local draft. Nothing is persisted until you click
Save changes.
Editing rows in the table
Each row represents a deck card entry in your staged draft. You can edit card identity, printing details, and row metadata directly in the table before saving.
- Qty: Change quantity (must be 1 or more).
- Card: Replace the card using inline card search.
- Print: Open the print picker to change set / collector number / printing.
- Board: Move rows between mainboard, sideboard, and maybeboard (commander rows are handled separately).
- Finish / Language: Adjust printing metadata.
- Tag / Proxy / Highlight / Notes: Edit row metadata directly in the table.
- Actions: Duplicate a row, mark a row deleted, or restore a deleted row before saving.
- New row delete behavior: Deleting a newly added row removes it from the draft immediately instead of leaving a deleted marker row.
Adding cards quickly
Use the Search and add cards input in the action bar to add a card to the bottom of the table. The new row is staged immediately, and you can adjust print, finish, language, board, and metadata before saving.
In commander formats, search and commander-related actions may be constrained by commander rules and color identity.
Paste a decklist into the Bulk Edit draft
Click Paste decklist to open the parser dialog. This dialog parses the pasted text and stages rows into the Bulk Edit draft without saving your deck yet.
- Source detection: MythicHub tries to detect the pasted format and may auto-select the source. You can override the source manually.
- Replace current draft rows: Replaces the current unsaved Bulk Edit draft rows only. The live deck is unchanged until you click
Save changes. - Append mode: Adds parsed rows to your existing draft so you can merge or review them in the table.
- Fallback to alternate printings: If enabled, the parser may match another printing when the exact printing is not found.
- Parse errors stop staging: If parsing or matching fails, the dialog shows an error and no rows are added to the draft.
Need source-specific syntax rules? See Importing decklists.
Saving changes and validation behavior
When you click Save changes, MythicHub validates the staged rows and applies the full draft to your deck in one save operation. After a successful save, the page refreshes and reloads the table from the saved deck state.
- Row validation before save: Each row must have a valid quantity (1 or more). Rows need a selected card or a valid card name for matching.
- Selected card rows need finish and language: If a row already has a selected card, finish and language are required.
- All-or-nothing save: If validation or matching fails, the save is rejected and the saved deck remains unchanged.
- Deck card limit: Deck saves must stay within the current deck limit (500 total cards).
- Success summary: The success message reports how many rows were updated, created, and deleted.
- Owner-only: Only the deck owner can use Bulk Edit. Non-owners will see a permission error instead of the editor.
Commander deck behavior
- Commander rows are special: Commander entries are handled differently from normal board rows.
- Add commander button: In commander formats, Bulk Edit can show
Add commanderwhen no active commander row exists in the draft. - Commander selection flow: Editing commander rows may open the commander dialog (including partner support) instead of normal row card search.
- Format restrictions still apply: Commander validations run on save, including special format-specific restrictions.
Practical tips
- Bulk Edit works best on desktop or a wider screen. On phones, use landscape mode for a better table view.
- Use paste to stage a batch quickly, then fine-tune the rows in the table before saving.
- Review the Updated / Added / Deleted counters before clicking
Save changes. - If paste parsing fails, verify the selected source and try another source format if needed.
- If exact printings fail to match during paste parsing, try enabling fallback to alternate printings.
Need help?
If something fails, note which step caused the issue: pasting a decklist, editing rows in the table, or saving changes. Include the exact error message shown on the page or in the paste dialog.
If possible, include a link to the deck (preferably public) and the exact steps to reproduce the issue. That makes Bulk Edit problems much faster to investigate.
Contact support at [email protected] and include the error details, or use the feedback link shown in the Bulk Edit page banner.
