You can add a commander to your deck either during the deck creation process or later by editing the deck. The commander input field allows you to search for all legal commanders based on the format: Commander or Brawl. Additionally, the commander select component supports different types of partner commanders:
- Partner: Allows you to select two commanders with the Partner ability.
- Partner with: Allows you to select two specific commanders that partner with each other.
- Background: Allows you to select a commander and a Background card.
- Friends: Allows you to select two commanders with the Friends forever ability.
- Doctor's companion: Allows you to select a commander and a Doctor's companion card.
To add or edit a commander:
- During Deck Creation:
- In the deck creation form, use the commander input field to search and select your commander.
- After Deck Creation:
- Navigate to your deck and click the Edit Deck button.
- Select the Edit Commander action to open the commander selection dialog.
- Use the commander input field to search and select your commander.
To add cards to your deck, interact with the "Search and add cards" input to search for cards you want to add to your deck. The dropdown next to it allows you to select if you want to add the card to the mainboard, sideboard, or maybeboard. Additionally, below it is a checkbox that limits the search to only cards legal in the selected format and available in the selected game type.
Once a card is added to the decklist, it can be modified by clicking on it. This will open a dialog with all options to edit the deck card, such as selecting a specific printing, selecting the language and finish type, changing the amount, or even adding notes for this specific card. Additionally, the amount can be changed by interacting with the amount number next to the card in the decklist.
While working on or viewing your decklist, there are multiple actions available to help you manage your deck efficiently:
Deck Actions:
- Edit Deck Settings: Modify the deck's name, game type, visibility, and other settings.

The collection status of cards in a decklist is visually represented using colored square indicators. These indicators provide a clear overview of how your collection aligns with the decklist requirements:
- Exact Match: Indicates that you own the required quantity of the exact printing specified in the decklist. These cards are fully playable as listed, with a green background.
- Partial Match: This status applies in two cases: when you own the exact printing of the card but not in the required quantity, or when you own the required number of cards but with a different printing. The background is blue, signaling that you may need to make adjustments or consider substitutions.
- No Match: Indicates that the card is completely missing from your collection. These are cards to acquire if you want to complete the deck, marked with a gray background.
- On Tradelist: Identifies cards in your collection that match but are currently assigned to your tradelist. This status is marked with an orange background, indicating they are not readily available for play.
- On Wishlist: Highlights cards already added to your wishlist. This is helpful for tracking which desired cards align with the decklist. These are marked with a purple background.
When comparing a decklist to your collection, the game type plays a crucial role. Each collection binder and deck is associated with a specific game typeโPaper, Arena, or MTGOโselected during their creation. When comparing a decklist's collection status, you need to specify the game type you wish to compare it against. This ensures that you accurately verify ownership of cards for the selected game type. For example, you might want to check if you own the cards required for a Paper event while also reviewing availability in Arena or MTGO. This flexibility allows you to plan effectively across formats while ensuring the comparison is accurate and tailored to your needs.
